We hope that this gorgeous November finds you well!

As hard to believe as it is (with all this nice weather we’ve been having) Christmas season is just around the corner and we thought we’d send out a quick message to all of you to let you know what is going on for the next few weeks!(Also it's been eons since we've updated this thing..between Fashion with Compassion, Fab @ Fifty, the Modern Mamas and BU-tiful women we have been kept on our toes. Sorry!)

Firstly, to let all of you know that our Treat Card special for the month of November is 50% off manicures. Take advantage and come in before your Christmas party or festive events that you may have this month. For December, we will be doing 50% off Body Wraps—this spa service is a pampering experience you will never forget. Regularly priced at $125.00, you can’t go wrong with this present to yourself! Call and book in for the same time as your next hair appointment—force yourself to get a little bit of TLC!

We have a ton of great stuff in the shop to get ready for the spirit of Christmas—great Christmas packs by Pureology and Kevin Murphy, gift baskets from Little Shop of Beauty and Nature’s Sense.

Also, if you’re looking for the perfect gift (as always) you can buy gift cards in any denomination. We are going to be putting together some fun spa packages together as well, so be on the lookout for those.

OH! And before we forget—we are extending our hours for December. Starting December 3, 2010 MUD will be open until 8PM every Friday until the 17. So if you are looking for a coveted evening spot call SOON to get in! We close from December 25-January 3 inclusive, so make sure you get your appointment before the New Year.

Welcome to Fall.

Hello Fabulous Friends-
Can you believe that summer is gone ALREADY?
Heartbreaking, really. We have just a couple more wedding parties to round off the season (congrats again to all of our beautiful brides this summer! Thank you for letting us be involved in your special days! <3).

While fall is usually a slower time for us, let's not kid ourselves. There is always SOMETHING going on here at MUD.
September is bringing us an event with our newest partner, B-U-tiful Women, and Fashion Has No Borders. Angela Sladen (whom we met through last May's Pink Tie Gala) is a one-woman powerhouse who is taking girl power to the next level! We are very honored to be involved with her organization, and her amazing team of brilliant women.
(If any of you would like to be involved in the BU event on the 17 of September, we have tix in the salon for sale!!!!)
October is dedicated to even more amazing women--we will be hosting two more Pinup sessions with Modern Mama's and Blackbird Photography.

The last one (if I haven't mentioned enough already) was a rad experience. We had so much fun with the saucy mamas!
We will be holding these on October 3 and 17--if you are interested in taking part in either date, contact the Modern Mama's through their website www.modernmama.ca or on their facebook page. There just might be some spots left!

October is also going to be the month of Fashion with Compassion. We were truly blessed to be involved last year, and the Compassion House graciously asked us to be a part of this years event. Our own dynamic duo Dana Metcalfe (owner) and Jeanette Hunt (Manager Extraordinaire) will be going on the 7th to do the hair and makeup for the Special Models for the show. Such a cool, inspiring, humbling experience. We will post pics of the event when we get them.

OH! And I can't believe I almost forgot...September is pamper month! With your full treat card take advantage of 50% off pedicures (hey hey!) and also we are having 10% off all body care products for the entire month.

Lastly (just a heads up) people have already started pre-booking their Christmas appointments (I know I know..I'm sorry for mentioning the "C" word...but it's a reality folks! It's not that far away!) and to remember we CLOSE for 10 days over the holidays.

We just don't want anyone being left out is all.

It's Hip to be Green

Wow, we have sure been neglecting this thing (sorry).
In our defense, we have been working a lot of early mornings and late nights preparing all of our STUNNING brides! (Whoot wedding season!) It's been a slice so far and all the lovelies have been looking amazing!

We simply cannot believe it's already the end of July...SO MUCH HAS BEEN HAPPENING!
Firstly, MUD is proud to announce that we have INOA color by L'Oreal Professionnel! The first of its kind--ammonia free, 100% white coverage--odourless--all while maintaining the utmost respect for the hair!
YESS!

Secondly, we are JAZZED to be the FIRST Edmonton Salon and Spa to be a part of Keep Edmonton Original! We support local business and as a result KEO has always been a cause near and dear to us. Check out their website, join their facebook page...this will help keep you informed about the great LOCAL talent this city has to offer!
Speaking of events, (we weren't, but couldn't think of a proper segue) we have been working a lot with the Modern Mamas! In the beginning of the month we did Pin Up Photo Sessions (check out Blackbird Photography's website or the Modern Mama's blog..stunning!) and just this past Sunday we did Mama Gets a New Do! What a treat to work with so many fabulous women in one day.
We are hoping to do many more events with the Mama's, and perhaps once we learn to put pictures on here we'll be able to add some of those as well:).

OH! And before we forget--in addiiton to our Little Shop of Beauty products that we've been carrying, we also have Nature's Sense bath and body products now in stock! Locally made and 100% natural, these products include mud masks, detoxifying soaps, massage oils and floral waters.
Awwesome! Come in and check them out!

The long weekend is approaching, and we are very excited about having an extra day off.
Ahhh. Perhaps some time to update this blog a little more efficiently....

Truth or Dare

Can you believe it's June already!?! Well, judging by the WEATHER most definitely not.
*ahem*

But, the days are getting longer and I suppose we can't be so sour about it, can we?
The start of June means our wedding season is getting underway...we're getting busier and busier (especially on weekends!) so if you can pre-book your appointments for the summer it's HIGHLY recommended.
Speaking of appointments, June is MANICURE MONTH for Treat Cards...so if you have one you should piggy-back it on to your upcoming hair appointment. Brenda and Debs are the BEST in the city for manicures...and if you don't agree I will eat my own hat.

June has already been a very exciting month. Last weekend, MUD had the honor of working with Sorrentino's Compassion House Former Guest Retreat out at the River Cree Marriott Hotel. A handful of the MUD team and friends ventured out there armed with makeup and paraffin treatments. What a learning experience! These women are strong, powerful, and inspirations to all they encounter. Things got a little out of hand during story time (we had a little "Truth or Dare session...things got real spicy! HAHA) but it was all in good fun, and it's safe to say the women had an AMAZING time. I know we did! Check out the Sorrentino's Compassion House Facebook page for pictures from the fun night! (Still learning how to load pics on this thing...baby steps!)

Last weekend we also got to work with the Modern Mama's again...we did their H&M for their MM photo shoot. The ladies looked gorgeous!

This coming Sunday we are working with Dianna Bowes of Fabulous at Fifty on a photo shoot for the event. So much fun! We'll be sure to post teasers on our website and facebook page for everyone to see!
More updates....LASTLY....Rashelle (one of our fabulous stylists) is having a bake sale in Salon on Thursday and Friday, with the proceeds going to cancer charities. FUN! Come in and check out her goodies, as she is the most AMAZING baker/chef I have ever met (outside of whomever the cook at Teddy's is...I looove that place!)

Pink!

We figure now that we have this we should probably use it. Hmmm. Where to begin. Well, we have never "blogged" (is that the term?) before, nor are we real savvy with computers. So bear with us.

May has been a super busy month, with lots going on in the shop. We have been working closely with Blush Magazine, an up and coming Wedding publication here in town. From what we have seen so far, it is shaping up to be pretty fabulous (I mean really, we did a lot of the hair and makeup featured. OBVIOUSLY it's fabulous!) We will keep everyone posted as the release date gets closer. FUN TIMES!

We also had the Rethink Pink-Pink Tie Gala at the beginning of the month. It was a super fun night, with fashion and food...we did the H&M for the models and some of the sponsors. The gala was to raise funds for awareness of breast cancer in women under the age of 40. Cancer awareness is a cause that is near and dear to our heart, so any opportunity we get to help increase that awareness or raise funds we are ALL over it (And, on that note, we currently have PINK MAKE UP PALLETS for sale, with proceeds going to the cross cancer institute..they are faaaaab).

MUD has also been busy with the Modern Mama's group, a wonderful organization here in Edmonton (and now in Calgary). We did a "Mama Gets Gorgeous" event here and it was a raging success. The mama's looked beautiful and everyone had a really fun time. The rest of the month is not as hectic. Although we thrive on hectic--we are going to slow down and take it easy, because come Summer months we are going to be doing more fun things and have surprises in store for all of our fabulous friends. Think that is all for now.
